Everything you need to know about FameCake
Creating your post
What is a FameCake post?
A post is an image, message, or design that you display on a digital screen. You can promote your business or celebrate a personal occasion.
How do I create a post?
Choose a screen, then upload an image or write a message. Check your artwork, choose your dates, and review the price before payment.
Can I preview my design?
Yes. Check the preview before payment. Check each screen's artwork when your post uses different screen shapes. You can adjust the image and text before continuing.
What image should I upload?
Upload a clear image, such as a JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC file, up to 50 MB. Match your design to the selected screen's shape. Keep text and logos away from the edges.
Check the preview for cropping, missing text, and unwanted changes before payment. Contact us if the preview does not match your design.
What kind of messages can I display?
You can advertise a business or celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and other personal occasions. Available screens depend on your account type and the screen owner's content rules.
Are there any content restrictions?
Your post must meet our terms and the selected screen's content rules. We prohibit harmful, unlawful, sexually explicit, and hateful content. Use only images and other material that you have permission to display.
How long does approval take?
Some posts pass automatic checks. Others need review by our team or the screen owner. Open your post to check its status. We cannot promise an exact approval time.
For a standard daily post, the paid countdown starts with its first play. Contact us if approval or display is delayed for a time-sensitive occasion.
Changing your post
Can I change my image or text after payment?
Yes. Open My Posts, select your post, and choose Edit Post or Edit Shared Artwork. Eligible paid, scheduled, and active posts support editing on mobile and desktop.
You cannot make another edit while an existing edit awaits review. Changes may need approval before they appear on screen.
Can each screen show different artwork?
Yes. Eligible posts with multiple screens support separate artwork for individual screens. Open your post and use its individual screen artwork controls. Use Edit Shared Artwork to change the design shared by the remaining screens.
Can I move my post to another screen?
Open your post and choose Change Screens. Mobile and desktop both support screen swaps.
Paid swaps keep the same number of screens. Replacement screens must cost the same or less and accept your artwork. Completed, cancelled, and some free posts cannot change screens. Screen groups may need to stay together.
Can I add more screens to a paid post?
On mobile, open your post and choose Change Screens. Keep your current screens selected, then select additional screens. Review the extra price and pay to confirm. You can enter a promo code before payment.
Desktop currently supports swaps but has no payment flow for extra screens. Posts managed by a plan need staff help to add screens. Posts awaiting payment capture or approval may not qualify.
Can I change my post's dates?
Open your post and choose Move Dates, when available. You can move an eligible post before its first play. The duration stays the same, and there is no extra charge.
Posts managed by a plan cannot use this control. Pending reviews, payment holds, and extensions can also prevent date changes.
Can I keep my post running for longer?
Open your post and choose Extend this post. Select extra days, review the price, and pay.
Eligible posts can extend before their first play, while running, or within 24 hours after completion. Duration limits, completed settlements, pending payment holds, plans, and older payment accounts can prevent extensions. Use Copy as new post to create a separate post when an extension is unavailable.
Can I use the same post again?
Open your post and choose Copy as new post, when available. This creates a separate post. Check its artwork, screens, dates, and price before payment.
How do I continue or delete a draft?
Open My Posts and select the draft to continue. Check expired dates before completing payment.
On desktop, use the draft's trash icon in My Posts to delete it. On mobile, open the draft's details and choose Delete Draft.
Seeing your post on screen
How does the play guarantee work?
Paid posts include a play guarantee. We calculate each site's target using 90 plays per paid screen per paid day. We check the combined plays at each site across the paid period.
Screens at the same site can make up for a stopped screen. Free added screens can also cover a shortfall, even at another site. If you move your post, the replacement screens count towards the guarantee.
If an eligible post misses a site's target, we add free time after the paid period ends. We keep adding time until each site meets its target. You do not need to buy extra days. We email you when the first free extension starts.
The guarantee covers paid screen time. Free posts and free added screens do not increase the target. If your next paid period is already queued, it starts instead of a free extension.
Free extensions provide more time. They do not guarantee display at an exact time or on a specific occasion.
How long will my post be displayed?
For a standard daily post, each paid day gives a 24-hour window starting from the first play. Screens share their rotation with other content. Your post does not stay on screen continuously.
Play length and frequency vary by screen. Open your post for its current status and play information. Plans and special offers may use different periods.
Are the screens on overnight?
Many screens switch off overnight or follow a venue's opening hours. Check the selected screen's hours where available. A 24-hour post does not mean 24 hours of continuous display. Do not assume a screen will show a midnight surprise.
My post says it is live, but I cannot see it. What should I do?
Check the location, screen, and post status in My Posts. If you are at the correct screen, send us the post reference, time, and a photo of the problem.
Report blank, frozen, damaged, or incorrect displays even when the post shows recorded plays. We need to investigate those reports.
Part of the screen looked wrong. Can I get a refund?
Screens are physical displays in public places. Brightness, colour, and sharpness vary between screens. A screen can show minor faults, such as dead pixels, a colour cast, or a dim, distorted, or inverted section.
Minor display faults do not stop your post being delivered, and they are not grounds for a refund or credit. If a fault made your post unreadable, send us the post reference, screen, time, and a photo. We will move or extend your post.
What happens if my post gets no plays?
Check your post's status and start date in My Posts. Some screens do not report plays. A zero count alone does not confirm a display failure.
Eligible paid posts receive free time if they miss their play target by the end of the paid period. We keep adding free time until the target is met. You do not need to buy extra days. We email you when the first free extension starts.
Your guarantee covers the combined plays at each site. The remaining screens can make up for a stopped screen. Replacement screens and free added screens also count towards the guarantee.
What happens if my screen fails?
Report the fault with your post reference, screen location, time, and a photo. You can choose replacement screens through Change Screens on mobile or desktop.
The guarantee covers the combined plays at each site. A stopped screen does not cause a shortfall if the remaining screens meet that site's total. Replacement screens and free added screens also count towards the guarantee.
Eligible posts receive free time when plays fall below the purchased target. You choose whether to move your post.
Why can I not find or select a screen?
Search by location or by screen code. Availability depends on operating state, account type, artwork, and screen owner rules. Some locations sell several screens together.
If a screen is missing, send us its location. We can check its availability.
Prices, payment, and refunds
How much does it cost?
Prices depend on the selected screens, duration, and options. Review the full price before payment. Extra screens and paid extensions show their own price before you confirm.
How far in advance can I post?
You can choose a start date up to 30 days ahead. Available durations extend to 30 days. A post starts on one screen or one site, and a site with several screens sells them together. Most sites price their screens as a set, so each screen costs less than it would alone: 2 screens usually cost 1.5x the price of the dearest screen, 3 to 5 usually cost 2x the price of the dearest screen, 6 or more usually cost 3x the price of the dearest screen. Some sites have their own price. The price shown for the site in the app is the one that applies. You can add more screens after checkout.
How do I pay or finish an unpaid post?
Stripe processes payments. Open My Posts and select your unpaid post to continue. Check its dates and price before payment.
If your bank shows a payment but the post remains unpaid, contact us before paying again.
Can I cancel my post?
While we only hold your card, you can cancel the post yourself: open it in My Posts and choose Cancel this post. Once we have taken payment, ask us to cancel it and our team will handle it. You may be able to edit the artwork, move dates, or change screens instead.
Eligible paid posts that have not started receive a refund minus a $1.00 cancellation fee. Uncaptured payment holds are released without that fee. Cancelling an active post does not refund its original payment. Paid modifications are handled separately.
Where is my refund?
Check your cancellation email for the refund amount. Refunds usually take 5 to 10 days to reach your bank. Separate payments can produce separate refunds.
Send us your post reference if the amount is wrong or the refund has not arrived. Do not send full card details.
What if my post is rejected?
Check the reason shown on your post. Contact us if you need help changing the content or disputing the decision. We can check whether your payment was captured, refunded, or held.
Where can I get an invoice?
Open your post and look for its invoice link. Mobile and desktop show invoices when available. Some invoices also offer a PDF download. Contact us if an invoice is missing or incorrect.
Why does my promo code not work?
Check the code's expiry date and conditions. Some codes require a signed-in account or apply only to particular purchases. Mobile extensions and extra-screen payments include promo code entry.
Discounts do not add up. Every discount comes off the full one-off price, and we apply the one that saves you most. A code that saves you less than your plan price, partner rate or several-sites price does not apply.
Send us the code and the error if you think it should work.
Do discounts add up?
No. Every discount comes off the full one-off price, and we apply the one that saves you most. Plan prices, Boost rewards, partner rates, discount codes and the price for several sites each count as one discount.
Can I remove the FameCake frame?
Choose the frameless option before payment, where available. The price appears before you confirm. Some screens include frameless display.
Frame removal is for business posts. A personal post, such as a birthday message, always shows the FameCake frame.
On a monthly plan, frame removal is free while your plan is active. It is not part of the plan price. The frame goes back on if you cancel, and a running plan can remove the frame from its post page.
Limited time: frame removal free on weekly plans started before 10:59am on 16 Nov 2026 (Sydney time). Keep it for as long as your plan stays active.
There is no customer upgrade control for an existing paid post. Contact us to check the options for that post.
Boost and your account
How does Boost work?
Open your eligible post and find the Boost photo upload. Take a selfie with you and your post on the physical screen both in the shot. Both mobile and desktop support uploads.
A verified selfie takes 50% off your next post of 7 days or more, or the first week or month of a plan. On a screen at $30.00 a day, your next week is $105.00, instead of $210.00. Use it within 14 days of the approval: checkout applies it for you. On a plan it replaces the plan discount for the first period. It does not add to it. One Boost reward per customer every 30 days. A photo of the screen without you in it does not qualify. Sending a photo in support chat does not submit a Boost claim.
How does the refer a friend offer work?
The refer a friend offer closed to new invites on 30 October 2026. Invite links sent before then still work until 31 December 2026, and we still pay their rewards. To earn from introducing local businesses now, become a FameMaker.
A friend who uses an invite link gets $20 off a post of $50 or more at checkout. It is a code, and one code applies to each post, so it does not add to another code.
On the day the friend's post first plays, we add $20 of Cake (account credit) to your account. There is no minimum spend, and it works on any screen. Cake from every friend goes into one balance, and you can spend all of it on one post. Cake pays first at checkout and your card pays the rest, so it also works alongside a promo code. It pays proposals too. Plan renewals and a proposal's later payments use Cake first and charge the card for the rest. A customer can turn this off for a plan with the "Use my Cake on renewals" switch on the post page. Each reward lasts 12 months.
If you paid as a guest, we email you a Cake code instead. Sign in and claim it to add it to your account.
There is one reward for each friend, and each payment card can earn you one reward. Rewards past 10 in a calendar month are checked by a person before they arrive.
How do I earn Cake?
Cake is account credit. Each business post earns Cake worth 10% of what your card paid for it, less any refund. A post your card paid $100 for earns $10.00 of Cake. Personal posts do not earn Cake.
These are the current terms. A post keeps the rate and the time limit that applied when you paid for it.
The Cake goes into your account when the post finishes airing. If you paid as a guest, we email you a Cake code instead. A plan or a proposal earns Cake for each period it airs. A plan's Cake pays first on its next renewal, unless you turned off "Use my Cake on renewals". Each reward lasts 90 days.
Only card payments earn Cake. Cake you spend does not earn more Cake. If Cake pays $20 of a $100 post and your card pays $80, the post earns $8.00 of Cake.
Cake pays first at checkout and your card pays the rest. Your Cake from rewards and referrals goes into one balance.
Why can I not see my post in My Posts?
Use the same sign-in method and account that you used to create the post. A different email or phone sign-in may open a different account.
If the post is still missing, send us its reference from the confirmation email. Do not create or pay for another post to recover it.
Can I change my name or email in my profile?
Your profile displays your name and sign-in email but has no general editor for those fields. Some payment and support flows let you add a contact email. This does not change your sign-in email.
Contact us if your account details need correction.
Can I pause or cancel a subscription?
Open the subscription's post to find its controls. You can pause, resume, skip the next renewal, or cancel, depending on its state. Cancelling the subscription lets the current period finish and stops future renewals.
